Mountshannon Arts Festival Wraps Up:
Record Attendance and Outstanding Performances

The Mountshannon Arts Festival (29 May – 2 June) cemented its reputation as a celebration of all that creativity has to offer, drawing record numbers to the lakeshore east Clare village on the Bank Holiday weekend.

Highlights of the five-day event included eclectic concerts, with standout performances from Mary Coughlan and the high-octane, trad-fusion group Jiggy, vibrant exhibitions across the village, along with captivating talks and sold-out workshops. The Community Market added to the feast of family-friendly activities for a truly joyful atmosphere.

The marquee hummed with fabulous live music, drawing large crowds for both established names and exciting new artists. Once again, this year offered a remarkable blend of talent, uniting renowned artists from across Ireland with promising rising talent from Co. Clare and beyond.

Mel White, chairperson of Mountshannon Arts, said: “We are absolutely delighted, everything went so well. A huge thank you to all our incredible local volunteers, our generous sponsors, including the Arts Council, Poetry Ireland and Clare County Council, as well as all the regional companies and private supporters who made this possible.”

The festival not only brought joy and creativity to the community but also delivered a considerable economic boost to Mountshannon and the surrounding region, underscoring the vital role of the arts in supporting local economies.

With the buzz of this year’s festival still resonating, plans are already in place for an extra special offering in 2026, when the event marks its 30th edition.
