I am celebrating Women. I wish to externalise the internal: emotions, feelings, thoughts, dreams, fear and joy. Women have been dismissed, ignored and repressed over centuries, and unfortunately in some regions of the world still are. My aim is to encourage and remind Women of their inner strength, the innate healing power that each of us have available and to rediscover our denied beauty again. Inside and Out.
After I moved from Berlin in 2007 to Ireland I was following an innate desire in 2008 and took up some pottery classes at the Grennan Mill Art school in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny and did not stop creating and engaging with clay ever since. My love for people, animals and nature is reflected in my creations throughout the years. The ‘time out’ of Covid pandemic gave me the opportunity to focus on female importance in the world around me – and inside&out – where I focused on women’s emotions and experiences, their importance and wronged perceptions in the world, in form of female busts and reliefs revealing their inner healing, progress, joy, sensuality and pride of becoming and being ‘ME’ again.
I have exhibited in a solo show in 2019 in Tramore, Waterford and since 2014 in group shows in Waterford, Dublin, Cork and Belfast.
